Photoshop Effects - CD Cover

For this project, I used two tutorials.

The Creating Glowing Sparks tutorial and the Adding Light Streaks To A Photo tutorial.

Photo Series and Artist Statement

My theme was nature.
I love taking photos of landscapes. So I decided to take a closer look at the environment and how people influence it like in the second and third picture.
Artist statement:
This quarter I have learned much about how to edit photos in Photoshop. It is amazing what a few effects or just adjusting the colors can do to a photo.
My goal for the future is to keep myself busy taking pictures and to use all I have learned in this class to make my photos even more successful.
My favorite subject matter is nature as you can see in the photos above.
I began to take photos when I was very young.
My mom showed me how to find the best perspective to make the photo look even better.

Color

For the first photo, I tried to create a contrast between the warmth of the red and the cold of the icicles.
The second photo transports warmth through the light.
The last photo seems a little bit cold but calming.

Goldsworthy imitations

For this project, I tried to copy Andy Goldsworthy's style as good as possible.
So I created circles and rounded shapes like he does in his work. The objects I used are all natural as well as the ones Goldsworthy is working with.

Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy is a sculptor who documents his work by taking photos. He is an environmentalist. You can see that in his work, too. He uses natural objects to create sculptures which represent the character of the environment and landscape.
Andy Goldsworthy spends a lot of time preparing his individual pieces of art. He builds his artwork with round shapes to express the flow of nature.
Sometimes he has to do one thing over and over again because it got destroyed. But he gets to know the objects he is working with better each time.
